Don bought me this print, "Waiting", by Emily from "Inside A Black Apple" for Valentine's Day because we had to wait so long to be together. I thought the Swedish clock was kind of cool as well, because of my Swedish heritage.

My Valentine Day Present from Don!
Don bought me this print, "Waiting", by Emily from "Inside A Black Apple" for Valentine's Day because we had to wait so long to be together. I thought the Swedish clock was kind of cool as well, because of my Swedish heritage.

The Dream Bike!

Yes...this is it! The bike I am dreaming of getting if I could ever save enough or win randomly huge amounts of money. I have tossed around desires for numerous bikes but Electra really does put out some amazingly fun bikes and this is my most hearted one...I think!
Neat Bicycling Music Video
This video by "Bat For Lashes" is complete with strange cycling men in animal costumes doing bike choreography tricks...Wahoooo!! Loving it today as I dream of getting my bike.

The Love Nest Chalkboard!
I got a tinge inspired by the sign from Rob Ryan's Store Sign and went to town on my
chalkboard today.

I still have to give it another coat or two.

Thinking about my resolution this year!
After seeing this lovely display by Knack I was reminded of my New Year's Resolution this year. I have even been thinking of getting some sort of tattoo with these words on it so that it is always a reminder to love perfectly and get rid of the fear.

I heart this artist and his lovely shop!

After reading about Rob Ryan on Design is Mine I had to look up his blog and a bit about his shop. If I become crazy wealthy I would love to have his work in our little love nest of a home. It is whimsical, fun and inspiring.

The Cutest Flat Ever!
I don't know where I found these pictures.
I wish I did so that I could give credit for this fun little space. It is absolutely great! Gotta grab some bright paint this week!

New Ikea opening on Febuary 18th, 2009
Okay, so after 2 and a half years of anticipation, the excitement cannot be contained... Our very own IKEA!!! I am normally not a chain store person but Ikea, Canadian Tire, Canadian Superstore and Shopper's Drug Mart were somehow part of life back home. I have seriously counted the days since I found out that they were opening an Ikea here. It finally will feel a tinge more like home here in the Charlotte area. From the outside the new Ikea seems very similar to the one in Edmonton, Alberta. (My very favourite one.) I can't go in until Febuary 18th when they open. I am so looking forward to having lingonberry juice, Glogg, Swedish meatballs, etc. along with the amazing home decor and furniture.
I CAN'T WAIT!!
It has been so long!
So Don surprised me after coffee last night and drove me over to the new building.
He is sooooo sweet!
I wanted to go inside but I had much self control and only took pictures of the outside as to keep myself from going to jail. Don may have to keep financial tabs on me a bit after Febuary 18th though!

Coffee with Friends!
Teresa and Cody Templin from T's Turn are so much fun! I loved having coffee/apple cider and Cody's favourite, tiny shot glasses of water. (heheh) The poor baristas. We may have driven them crazy.

Memories of Granville Island!

I love the whole locavore ideology but it is so much easier to accomplish while living in Vancouver than it is here. Everything is a tinge sparse here especially this time of year and although the Mathews and Charlotte Farmer's Markets are really great in the summer, there is still no comparison to Granville Island. Oh what fun too!

My Favourite Place to Think and Draw
I am a little nostalgic today.
I found these pictures from home and remembered sitting in front of this log at Kitsilano Beach, Vancouver, B.C. and looking out at the boats, ships and all of the beauty of nature surrounding me. It was extremely awe inspiring and inspirational!

luvin' this song today!
Who wouldn't love this wonderful Canadian? Even if I hear this song by Sarah Harmer 100 times it doesn't get old.
My Love of Red, White and Blue

Maybe there is a little American in this Canadian girl because I have really fallen in love with red, white and blue lately.
