annamaria potamiti...

"The mysterious nature of space"

Every morning...whether tea or coffee, I start my day with a cup, some cheery music, a little stick of incense, curtains peeled open in hopes of letting in the sun but the real joy is in sitting at my table looking up at all of the art while I sip my drink and enjoy.
I hope it is alright that I have a favourite piece and it isn't only because it is an original or because the artist is Canadian and happens to live in my beloved city of Vancouver....
no...
it is simply because it always makes me happy inside.
I love all of its lines, puffy cotton candy spots and the little rainbow peeking out of the campus style boot.

Like its artist, Annamaria Potamiti; it feels deep, thoughtful, cheery, with a sense of humour and fun.
It speaks to my soul and says,
"just for today live outside of the box and live it so others want to too"
(Hoping that isn't stretching your work to far away from its original thought, Annamaria.)
Take a peek at both Annamaria's shop and blog.
I love both!
She is so lovely, creative and talented.
Wishing you all a bit of art in your weekend!
Happy Friday, friends!

My new moccasins...

Thank you so very much!

contemplative monday...

(a five point weight watchers breakfast that doesn't feel like I am on a diet)
(above a little sneak peek at a temporary frame for small pieces of art that I love and post card prints.
I am going to do a post about the artist, Annamaria Potamiti, who created the piece on the right, later on this week.)

I haven't felt much like blogging or doing anything for that matter.
Do you ever have one of those weeks where you feel alone, small and slightly insignificant?
You know you are not completely without purpose but the wind has just been knocked out of your sails and you can't pull it together with even the little things?
I really don't even know how it started but the past few days, I have been a little contemplative, wondering if we can even ready our home for sale and if we do, will we be able to find another?
Will it be here or there or somewhere in between?
Is it worth it to try and move, get our hopes up and all prepared to possibly be disappointed with the results?
(A vintage flight bag I purchased from a thrift shop.)
To move or not to move is not the only question.
Will we find our place in this big world?
Will everyone be alright?
With 4 children, will one grow up and hate me for moving away in whatever grades they are in?
Will I always feel this trapped?
I so don't mean to be a downer but I am just feeling a little lost and can't seem to figure out where to start.
I wish one could take a little peek into their future and make the right decisions accordingly.

a new look for a friend...

I loved creating/designing this banner for a very sweet friend, Melissa.  She is wonderful to work with and I am so happy with all of her added ideas, like the font changes and pink belly on the bird.  I am swooning over her new layout.
It all looks wonderful.  Go check it out, friends!
If you need a new blog banner, feel free to e mail me anytime at (ourlittlelovenest@gmail.com).  We are reasonably priced and would love to help you out.

off to pura vida...

These guys are off to Pura Vida this week.

I hope they all find lovely ears to hang upon.
I love the rainbow of colours in these feathery earrings.
Don't you?

studio this week...

There is something inspiring about finding play once again in painting.
My favourite memories of kindergarten were the days dipping my fingers in paints and smearing paper with the colourful globs of paint.
It is pretty cool finding that joy again at 40 with etching, colour mixing and washes.
I think every adult should allow themselves a chance to bring out the kid in them at whatever age they are.
Happy Tuesday, friends!

our weekend...

A lovely weekend other than eyes watering, sneezing incessantly, numbness in my face and as itchy as any allergic reaction to pollen can possibly be.
I can't help myself though...I love the outdoors and I feel completely at home among plants.
Happy Monday, friends!
How was your weekend?
